No entry requirements are required but you must have an interest in the subject area you are applying for. You will have a College interview and if necessary references may be taken up. You need to show a varied portfolio of creative work.
This one year introductory learning course in art & design is for those students who wish to develop their creative work across a range of disciplines.
The course consists of four main art & design projects and alongside these you will also study Functional Skills in English and follow a programme in personal and social development.

The course is continually assessed against units of study. Competence must be proved in all areas of study before the full award is granted.
You can progress onto specialist courses such as the Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design, Media or Performing Arts where you will be given an opportunity to continue to develop your creativity, in more of the specialist areas.
Successful students can work in a range of art and design based roles.
