  • Entry requirements

    You must be 19 years or above with a relevant Level 2 qualification. If you do not have GCSEs in English and/or maths at grade 4 (grade C) or above you may have the option to take a formal qualification in those subjects. You will however be asked to take and entrance test to assess your level of Maths and English. ICT skills are essential and you will have a College interview. Progressing students should have a minimum attendance of 85% and an excellent college report.

  • Who is the course for?

    Students returning to education to complete a 1 year foundation programme giving access to university.
    Access to HE courses are intended for mature students who have been out of education for some time. This generally means that students should be at least 19 when they start the course. Universities and colleges expect Access to HE applicants to have acquired a certain amount of life experience before they start an Access to HE course, so applicants who have only recently left school may be advised to follow a different route into higher education.

  • Study methods

    A variety of modes of delivery are used including lectures, group work and discussion, problem solving activities, presentations and seminars, individual practical work in class, independent study time, individual support and interviews.

  • How is the course assessed?

    There will be a variety of assessment methods for each unit in order to achieve credits, and there will be some time constrained tests or examinations in some of the units.

    Once completed further study at university, students can go into employment in the business sector.

  • Where Next – Further Studies

    Successful students can go on to study a BTEC Level 4 HNC/Level 5 HND in Business at Uxbridge College or a full or part-time degree at most UK universities.
