Entry requirements
Level 2 qualification in Hair & Media Make-Up, Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy or combined. A trade test may be required along with a formal interview.

Who is the course for?
This course is ideal for candidates who are passionate about a career in the hair and media make-up industry. Develop your skills further to work as a hair and make-up stylist on photo shoots, TV or theatre production. This will enhance your portfolio, while building your confidence and experience in both aspects.

Study methods
There will be group practical and theory projects which will work towards your final assessments. There will be a variety of guest speakers, visits/trips and demonstrations will take place throughout the course and the opportunity to attend master classes.
Students will need to complete work experience as part of the course and take part in internal and external competitions/shows. -
How is the course assessed?
Practical skills will be observed by the tutors and knowledge will be checked throughout the course using written questions and completed assignments.

You can gain employment as counter staff for cosmetic houses e.g. Lancome or Mac or as a session stylist working on photo shoots for film, TV or theatre production.
