This course gives learners more time to develop their skills in sport, uniformed services and travel, working with subject specialists in these vocational areas.
Learners will build the essential study skills and confidence needed to progress in further education, alongside a range of enrichment opportunities both within and outside college.
On successful completion, learners can progress to a relevant Level 2 qualification, subject to entry requirements.

Entry requirements
You should have an interest in the subject area you are applying for.
There are no formal entry requirements but we will assess your level of English and maths to make sure you are working at Entry Level 3 or above. This is to ensure you are able to meet the course requirements. -
Who is the course for?
This course is aimed at students who are interested in boosting their English, maths and vocational skills.
It is also for students who want to progress onto a Level 2 vocational course or employment the following year. -
Study methods
Lectures, practical workshops and research. This course will allow students the opportunities to develop skills in a variety of different areas.

How is the course assessed?
Candidates have to collect a portfolio of evidence.
Assessment consists of both performance and knowledge evidence.
Performance evidence is through direct observation of the candidate, products or outcomes of the candidate’s work, such as items that have been produced or worked on.
Maths and English will be assessed through exams. -
