Who is the course for?
Turn your passion for performing music into an exciting and rewarding career. In this UAL course, we look at the skills and strengths that you bring and develop them, helping you to reach your full potential. This course is designed with the “360 degree” approach which means that you will be developing yourself in several different fields to become a rounded professional, proficient enough to undertake roles in areas such as music performance, production, song writing or business. This approach is what will make you an employable musician in today’s challenging industry.
You will be taught in both a classroom-based environment, as well as in our state-of-the-art music studios.
How is the course assessed?
You will develop as both a performer and as a music producer, collaborating with other members of your group on different projects throughout the year. Projects will take many forms, including composing music for Encyclopaedia Britannica, creating your own single/EP for internet release, performing original and cover material as a band in local venues and take a role as sound engineer in the drama and dance productions. You will focus on developing your own role throughout the year and this will lead to your final project where you will be asked to sum up all the previous skills learned.
