Even the sky is not the limit for the endlessly hard working Nysa. With a dream of becoming an Air Traffic Controller, the Aviation course at Uxbridge College was the perfect gateway to her career ambitions.

When Nysa first moved to the UK, she was overwhelmed by choice, and unsure which colleges she should visit. After seeking advice from friends and family members, they all recommended Uxbridge College.

Alongside developing her passion for aviation, amplifying her interest in the industry and knowledge of the field, Nysa also attributes her outstanding growth in confidence to the Aviation course. Once nervous to present in front of a small class, Nysa now regularly partakes in panel discussions, large-scale networking events and interviews, developing her connections and industry links.

Nysa recently won the Aviation, Travel and Tourism award at the Uxbridge College Student Awards, nominated by her tutors for being a "positive role model" and for her "exceptional commitment to her studies", which earned her distinction level grades throughout the year.

The enthusiasm and commitment Nysa demonstrates to her work is infectious, a trait which is showcased through her success, such as securing a place on the British Airways Apprenticeship Programme and being awarded the prestigious British Airways Golden Ticket, an achievement only awarded to a select number of cabin crew nationally.

Embrace your curiosity

Recently, Nysa joined the Turing Scheme and completed an international work placement in Greece, an opportunity further developing her industry knowledge, confidence and professional skills.

Nysa encourages any prospective student to take on the opportunities presented to them, to embrace their curiosity and nourish their passions:

“Participate in as many things as you can, even something as simple as volunteering for the college or presenting in class. Always be curious and use your assignments as a chance to learn something you might not have known before. Grab every opportunity.”
