Equality & Diversity
Uxbridge College extends a warm welcome to everyone, regardless of background or starting point. We are fully committed to promoting, maintaining and supporting equality of opportunity in all aspects of our work.
We aim to create an environment where all individuals, irrespective of gender, personal status, ethnic origin, religious belief, sexual orientation, disability or age have the opportunity to achieve their full potential, and gain a feeling of self-esteem and respect for and from all others. The College does not tolerate inequality and discrimination and we welcome opportunities to understand and celebrate the diversity of our staff and students.
Please note that the College is a secular college and our resources are dedicated to learning. No one faith will be promoted by the College, nor allowed to be promoted, at the expense of other faiths. Dedicated facilities will not be provided for particular faith groups, but arrangements will be made to allow for essential religious observance where and when this is possible.
Public bodies are required under the specific duties of the Equality Act 2010 to:
• Publish equality objectives every 4 years
• Publish information annually to demonstrate their compliance with the general equality duties
• Publish information relating to their employees.

At Uxbridge College we take British Values seriously. Our former Student President, Eric Kim, created a video to show how important it is to demonstrate these values – especially at College. The viedo also won second prize in a competition run by the National Association for Managers of Student Services.
