Accounting

The course is made up of the following units:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping
  • Principles of Bookkeeping Controls
  • Principles of Costing
  • The Business Environment
  • Entry requirements

    Applicants should have a Level 2 qualification in English & maths along with an advanced level of IT skills. Applicants should also have an interest in accounting or preferably be already working in accounting, but this is not essential. Applicants are also expected to pass an entry test at the time of enrolment.

  • Who is the course for?

    Students who wish to gain a professional qualification and are aiming to be employed in an accounting or financial environment.

  • Study methods

    The aim is to provide a good theoretical understanding of bookkeeping and accounts, and to reinforce learning with simulated workplace assignments. In addition to College attendance, students must be prepared to commit to at least five hours study time per week.

  • How is the course assessed?

    There is a computer based exam for each of the 5 units.
