Functional Skills Maths (Pre GCSE): Entry 3 - PT Evening

There are no set entry requirements. When you come to enrol, you will be assessed for suitability and to agree the level you can study. Prior qualifications will be used where appropriate.

These are part-time courses suitable for adults (over 19 years old) who have been out of full-time education for some time. Functional Skills is for students who need to gain a solid understanding of the basic mathematical skills needed for further study, the workplace or everyday life. Everyday decisions are often based on mathematical information. Developing your maths skills will help you to make the best choices.

The course is delivered over 15 weeks of classroom taught lessons for 2 hours a week. You will be expected to combine this with a further 2 hours of guided study a week using an online platform called Century. At the end of the course, you will take an exam. This will involve both non-calculator and calculator papers.

Exam – Two papers in one sitting. Non-calculator (25%) and Calculator (75%)

This course runs at the Uxbridge Campus on Thursdays from 6-8pm.

This qualification will help you feel more confident with your maths skills and will open doors to more employment opportunities and further study.

After successful completion of the Entry 3 course, you can look to progress to Level 1.
