English & Maths
English and maths qualifications are essential, with many higher education institutions and employers demanding a high level of understanding in both subjects.
If you are 16-18 and studying a full-time programme at the college, our aim is to ensure that you leave college having achieved the best English and maths grades you can. Classes are timetabled to fit in with your main study programme and you will be in a group that is at the right level for you, based on your prior experience and grades. All students will be working towards attaining the equivalent of grade C (grade 4/5) or above at GCSE.
If you are 19+ you may be able to take English or maths at GCSE or Functional Skills, however places are limited and subject to you meeting a minimum standard. Please speak to a member of the English and maths team for more information.
Achieved grade A*-C (grades 9- 4) at GCSE?
You will further develop your English and maths skills within your main / vocational programme of study.
Achieved grade D (grade 3) at GCSE?
