AAQ OCR Level 3 Advanced National Certificate in Human Biology - H049 (QCHBUU)

6 grade 9-4 in academic GCSEs. Must include English (4), Maths (4) and Science (4,4) (combined/trilogy) plus any subject specific grade for the chosen A Level.

Through a combination of theoretical study and hands-on experience, you will develop the necessary knowledge and skills that can support progression to higher education human biology study.

In the examined units, you will study key knowledge and understanding relevant to human biology.

In the non examined assessment (NEA) units, you will demonstrate knowledge and skills you learn by completing an applied or practical assignment.

For this qualification, students must complete three units:

• One mandatory externally assessed unit
  
• Two mandatory NEA units.

Upon successful completion, students are expected to progress to the Extended Certificate, which is equivalent to 1 A level.

This qualification is suitable for students who want to develop applied knowledge and skills in human biology and want to progress onto other related study, such as higher education courses in biological science, life sciences and human biology. The following subjects would be suitable to combine with this qualification: AS level Psychology, AS level Sociology, AS level Chemistry, L3 Core Maths.
