This qualification will require research; it includes the skills involved in providing a thorough consultation with the client to formulate a specific course of treatment, tailored to suit individual client needs, use of laser and light treatments for skin rejuvenation and hair removal and to manage the health, safety and security of the salon.

- Laser and Light Treatments for Hair Removal (this unit is about reducing hair growth using intense light and laser systems
- Laser and Light Treatments for Skin Rejuvenation (this unit is about using intense light and laser systems for photo-rejuvenation of the skin).

Entry requirements
Level 3 Beauty Therapy.
If learner does not have Level 3 Beauty Therapy they will need to complete Level 3 Anatomy and physiology (A&P) unit, which will be available with us through VTCT. -
Who is the course for?
This course is for anyone over the age of 18
The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is an advanced qualification that has been specifically designed for beauty therapists, who wish to add laser and IPL treatments to their repertoire of treatment offerings and proceed to employment as a Level 4 Laser Therapist.
Or it is for individuals wishing to work in clinics that offer these treatments.
This qualification is based on beauty therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS). This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.
The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is a vocationally related qualification and is focused on reducing hair growth and photo rejuvenation of the skin using intense pulse light and laser treatments. This qualification requires you to develop skills to carry out IPL and laser treatments.
This qualification allows you to gather evidence in a realistic working environment or real working environment without the need for fee paying clients. -

Onsite in the college and some online self study. Case Studies and Assignments.

How is the course assessed?
VTCT courses are assessed and quality assured by centre staff. Work will be set to improve your practical skills, knowledge and understanding.
For practical elements, you will be observed by your assessor. All your work must be collected in a portfolio of evidence and cross-referenced to requirements listed in this record of assessment book. -
