This is a full-time course (approximately 4 days a week, 9-5pm).

- Installation Methods, Procedures and Requirements
- Electrical Installation Craft Skills
- Electrical Science, Principles and Technology.

Who is the course for?
This course is designed for learners who are interested in beginning a career within the electrical installation and wider building services industry.
It is particularly suitable for school leavers or learners with limited previous electrical experience who would like to develop fundamental practical skills and electrical knowledge.
The course provides learners with an introduction to electrical installation and helps develop the practical ability, technical understanding and professional behaviours required to progress to higher-level study or an apprenticeship. -
Study methods
The course combines practical workshop training with classroom-based theory. Learners will gain experience of using electrical tools, equipment and materials while developing fundamental installation skills within a realistic workshop environment.
Learners will also develop their understanding of electrical principles, health and safety, safe working practices and the standards expected when working within the electrical industry.
Assessment takes place throughout the course and will include practical assessments, written assignments and knowledge-based assessments. -

The level 1 course is designed to prepare learners not only for further study but also for the expectations of employment within the construction and building services industries.
Learners are expected to demonstrate a professional approach throughout the course, including excellent attendance and punctuality, safe working practices, appropriate behaviour and a positive attitude towards their studies.
English and maths will also form an important part of the learner's programme where applicable, helping to develop the skills required for progression and future employment. -

Successful learners may progress onto a suitable Level 2 Electrical Installation qualification or an electrical apprenticeship, subject to meeting the relevant entry requirements.
