The curriculum design has focused on developing essential skills that will aid learners in their chosen careers, such as critical thinking, teamwork, and organisational abilities.

      For students to be eligible for funding from Student Finance England, they must be studying on an eligible course at a provider registered with the Office for Students (OfS). The OfS is the new independent regulator for higher education in England and all higher education providers need to register with the OfS for their students to be eligible for student support in the 2024-25 academic year. The OfS has published providers on its Register and HRUC (and HCUC as we were known before Jan 2023) has been registered since 10 December 2018.     The course will give you insight into careers in the uniformed services. You are encouraged to use your studies to find out more about your chosen career. Students should look to gain employment with the Emergency Services and Armed Forces, e.g., Border Force, Police, Fire & Rescue, Ambulance, Prison & Probation, Security Industry, Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office, Ministry of Defence, or National Crime Agency. Roles undertaken would potentially be in managerial and leadership style roles.

    University Top-Up – At the end of the successful completion of your HND, there is potential to ‘Top up’ to a degree with a university. The Level 5 Higher National Diploma is recognised by higher education providers as meeting admission requirements for many relevant public services-related courses, for example:

    BA (Hons) Criminology, BA (Hons) Policing, BA (Hons) Public Services, BA (Hons) Leadership in the Public Sector, BA (Hons) Sociology and Criminology, BA (Hons) Uniformed and Public Services

  • Fees

    Home student fee: £6,000

    International student fee: £8,500. There is also a registration fee for international students. This is between £115-25.

    The fees quoted are for one year of study and include tuition, exam fee, materials, ID card (which gives access to the college and facilities e.g. library) and college registration.

    Fees will be no higher than those published, subject to an Access and Participation Plan being approved by the Office for Students.

    Whether you pay a 'home' or 'overseas' fee depends on whether you meet certain criteria. Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges (HRUC) does not create the criteria for fee status. The fee status criteria is provided in regulations and guidance, published by the government.
