    Year 2 Course RQF Year 2. Students will study the following units:
  • General Business Pathway
    Entry criteria: Pass or Merit in year 1 plus GCSE English and Maths grade 4.

  • International Business
  • Principles of Management – externally set and assessed exam
  • Business Decision Making – externally set and assessed exam
  • Team Building in Business
  • Visual Merchandising
  • Branding
  • Supply Chain Operations.

    Finance Pathway:
    Entry criteria: Overall grade Distinction in year 1 plus GCSE English and Maths grade 4+

  • International Business
  • Principles of Management – externally set and assessed exam
  • Business Decision Making – externally set and assessed exam
  • Team Building in Business
  • Recording Financial Transactions
  • Final Accounts for Public Limited Companies
  • Financial Statements for Specific Businesses.

    Law Pathway:
    Entry criteria: Overall grade Distinction in year 1 plus GCSE English and Maths grade 4+

  • International Business
  • Principles of Management – externally set and assessed exam
  • Business Decision Making – externally set and assessed exam
  • Team Building in Business
  • The English Legal System
  • Aspects of Civil Liability Affecting Business
  • Aspects of Criminal Law Impacting on Business and Individuals.
  • Entry requirements

    5 GCSEs grade 4 or above including English and maths, or a BTEC Level 2 qualification at Merit (and GCSE English and Maths at grade 4)

    This course is designed for those wishing to gain an insight into the world of business with a broad understanding of areas such as marketing, finance, the business environment and business communication.

    The 1st year of the course is equivalent to 1.5 A levels and the full extended diploma (2 years) is equivalent to 3 A levels.

  • Where Next – Further Studies

    Progression from the Foundation Diploma year 1 would be onto the Extended Diploma (year 2), followed by HE courses at Uxbridge College or progress to university.
