Level 2 Web Development

  • Entry requirements

    You will need:

    • Four GCSEs at Grade 3/D or above, including English Language and Mathematics; or
    • A relevant Level 1 qualification and a positive reference.

      Students should have an interest in technology, creativity and problem-solving, together with a willingness to develop coding and web development skills.
  • Who is the course for?

    This programme is ideal for students who:

    • Want to learn how websites and web applications are created
    • Are interested in coding but are not yet ready for a Level 3 programme
    • Enjoy creative and practical learning activities
    • Have an interest in technology, design and digital problem-solving
    • Want to explore modern web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React.
    • Are interested in how AI tools can support software development
    • Wish to progress to a Level 3 Computing, Software Development or Digital programme

      No previous programming experience is required. Enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to learn are the most important qualities for success on this course.
  • Study methods

    Teaching is delivered through a combination of:

    • Classroom-based lessons
    • Practical coding workshops
    • Web development projects and coursework
    • Individual and group activities
    • Industry-relevant development challenges

      Students will also be expected to complete independent study outside of lessons to strengthen their coding skills, practise development techniques and prepare for assessments.

    Assessment methods include:

    • Internally assessed coursework assignments
    • Practical coding projects.

      Assessment focuses on developing the knowledge, technical skills and professional behaviours required for progression into further study and employment within the digital and software development sectors.
