As part of this programme students have the opportunity to train in excellent facilities, including two fully equipped dance studios, a theatre, an acting studio, a green room and dedicated dressing rooms, giving them experience in industry-standard rehearsal and performance spaces.
Acting students explore a wide range of performance styles, including:
- Classical Theatre
- Contemporary Theatre
- Musical Theatre.
While dance students train across multiple genres such as: - Ballet
- Tap
- Jazz
- Contemporary
- Street
- Commercial
- Hip-hop and many more.
There are plenty of enrichment opportunities, including theatre trips, industry workshops with visiting professionals and regular performances both within the college and at external venues.
Students take part in public productions, community performances and collaborative projects, gaining valuable real-world experience.

Entry requirements
5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (grade C or above) preferably including English & maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification at merit or above. You will be invited to an audition and interview.

Who is the course for?
The UAL Level 3 Year 1 Performing Arts course is ideal for students aged 16+ who are passionate about acting, musical theatre or dance and want to develop their skills in a professional training environment.
It is suitable for both experienced performers looking to refine their technique and motivated beginners who are eager to learn, grow and challenge themselves. -

How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed through a combination of practical performances, written coursework, research, reflective journals, portfolios and ongoing assessment of skills development.
Students are assessed through industry-style projects including auditions, rehearsals, live performances and creative work, demonstrating their progress in acting, musical theatre, dance and professional practice.
Assessment focuses on both the final outcome and the creative process, including students’ ability to research, develop ideas, collaborate effectively and reflect on their own development. -

Where Next – Further Studies
