Entry requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or a related field (MMM grade or above or 96 UCAS points), Access to Health and Human Sciences or a related field
- GCSE English and Maths at a grade 4 or above (or equivalent FS L2)
- Relevant care experience is helpful but not essential.
Students with overseas qualifications are welcome. Non-native English speakers who have not completed their final two years of schooling in English must demonstrate English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5, with at least 5.5 in Reading and Writing.

Study methods
The HNC has a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 1,200 hours, which represents the average time required to complete the qualification.
- 40% (480 hours) is delivered on campus through lectures and workshops
- Approximately 15 hours per week: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
- Time is split between taught lessons and supported research-based workshops.
60% (720 hours) is dedicated to independent study, including: - Completing assignments
- Self directed research
- Study in the Learning Resource Centre (LRC).
In addition, students must complete a minimum of 225 hours of work placement within the health and care sector.

Fees
- Home student fee: £6,820
- International student fee: £8,990. There is also a registration fee for international students of £125.
The fees quoted are for one year of study and include tuition, exam fee, materials, ID card (which gives access to the college and facilities e.g. library) and college registration.
Fees will be no higher than those published, subject to an Access and Participation Plan being approved by the Office for Students.
Whether you pay a 'home' or 'overseas' fee depends on whether you meet certain criteria. Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges (HRUC) does not create the criteria for fee status. The fee status criteria is provided in regulations and guidance, published by the government.
