EDEX T-Level in Health - Supporting the Adult Nursing Teams (T3UH1F)

This T-Level is equivalent to three A-Levels and provides students with the technical knowledge and specific skills required for their chosen career pathway.

Course content includes:

Year 1 (Core Component): Learning about the healthcare sector, health and safety, person-centred care, and infection control.
Year 2 (Occupational Specialism Component): Focus on supporting the adult nursing team, including assisting with clinical tasks, supporting individuals with activities of daily living, and assisting with skin integrity assessments and treatment of skin conditions.

- Pass at least 6 GCSEs, including Grade 6 or above in English, Mathematics, and Science
- Candidates require a DBS check.
Who is the course for?

This qualification is suitable for students aged 16+ looking to develop both knowledge and practical skills in the health sector, specifically those interested in supporting adult nursing teams.

It supports progression into employment, higher education, or higher apprenticeships.
Study methods

Study methods include a mixture of lectures, discussions, group and pair work, practical demonstrations, and role-play in developed hospital wings or immersive rooms.

Work experience through industry placements is a key component.

Students are also expected to undertake significant independent study outside of timetabled classes. Specific details for this course may vary, so confirmation with Uxbridge College is recommended.
How is the course assessed?
This course has two main parts over two years, and each part has different ways to test what you’ve learned.
Year 1 - Core Knowledge (Learning About Health Basics):
- Exams: Two written tests to check what you know about health topics like safety and patient care.
- Employer Set Project (ESP): A practical task set by employers to see how you solve real-world health problems.
  
  Year 2 - Adult Nursing Skills (Learning to Help Adult Patients):
- Synoptic assessments: Practical and written assessments that demonstrate a range of skills and knowledge acquired throughout the course, including those gained during the industry placement.

Vaccination Requirements:
All students undertaking placements must meet the vaccination requirements of placement providers. Placements may take place within hospital settings, district nursing teams, and other health-related organisations, in accordance with their individual policies.

Required vaccinations include:
- Hepatitis B (Hep B)
- Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR).
  
  Students must provide evidence that they have received both vaccinations. Where a student has not yet received one or both vaccinations, the College will arrange and fund the required vaccinations to ensure compliance with placement requirements.

  Students will also be able to work towards a Care Certificate - an additional programme offered by the College to further prepare students on the T-Level Therapy and Nursing pathways for employment and placements.
  
  This certificate is delivered and assessed by our College staff to the standards set by Health Education England, Skills for Care, and Skills for Health, ensuring it meets national benchmarks for knowledge and competency.
