An event hosted by The Mayor and Mayoress of Hillingdon with the help of Uxbridge College’s catering and hospitality trainees raised a fantastic £1,354.
More than 40 guests attended the charity dinner hosted by The Mayor of Hillingdon Councillor Michael Markham and the Mayoress, Mrs Rosemary Markham, and held in Revisco restaurant at Uxbridge College in Hayes.
Funds raised from the night were matched by Barclays Bank to bring the amount up to the final total.
Councillor Markham said: "The dinner at the restaurant was an amazing event. The guests all thought the food and the service provided by the students was of the highest calibre.
"The event raised £1,354.00 for our charities - the children's hospice Shooting Star CHASE, Hillingdon Young Carers and Age UK Hillingdon. Our grateful thanks go to all involved."
Around 20 students on courses in professional cookery at Levels 1, 2 and 3 took part in the event, which was designed and organised by Level 3 students Wadood Sediqui, Catherine Taylor and Kareem Watson. This included designing the menu, distributing the menu, organising the purchase of the ingredients, and managing the catering team.
The menu included celery, apple and stilton soup, rainbow trout, guinea fowl and asparagus spears, and Eton mess.
