Uxbridge College is thrilled to announce that The King’s Trust Garden: Seeding Success, showcased at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025, will find its permanent home on our Uxbridge Campus, where it will be used, developed and maintained by students enrolled on The King’s Trust programme and the local community. The Chelsea Garden comes to Uxbridge campus as recognition for the award winning work of the UC Foundation Learning school (ELTFS), their amazing students and inspiring staff.
This remarkable garden, designed by award-winning landscape architect Joe Perkins, symbolises resilience, growth, and the transformative potential of young people, an ideal representation of HRUC’s core values and mission.
As a part of Project Ambition, the transformation of our Uxbridge Campus, the garden will serve as a dynamic outdoor learning environment, allowing learners and community members to engage in its ongoing development and maintenance. It will deliver a calm, wellbeing focused space for our staff and students.
The garden’s design features screen-printed glass panels representing seed dispersal, basalt pathways leading to communal spaces, and a diverse planting scheme with species known for their adaptability. Notably, the garden employs sustainable materials and construction methods, emphasising environmental responsibility, and reflecting one of HRUC’s core values: innovation and sustainability.
We will be excited to share more updates as the garden is moved to Uxbridge Campus, and look forward to more developments of Project Ambition enriching the college grounds not only for students and learners, but also for the wider community.
Dylan McTaggart, HRUC Group Principal and Deputy CEO, said: “We’re delighted to be able to work with the world-renowned RHS to give this inspiring garden a new home at our thriving College. The garden will become an integral part of the calm, welcoming and enriching space we’re creating across all elements of our campus through Project Ambition.”
