This is the New Edexcel GCSE (9-1) Maths course. The syllabus content can be found on the Edexcel website. Core topics are listed below:
- Numbers
- Algebra
- Ratio - proportion and rates of change
- Geometry and Measures
- Probability
- Statistics.
You will gain access to resources and feedback on your work in the lessons.

Entry requirements
You would normally have a grade D/3 in GCSE Mathematics, a Level 1 or 2 Functional Skills Maths or equivalent. However, there are no set entry requirements. Before starting the course, you will be assessed for suitability and to agree the level you can study. Prior qualifications will be used where appropriate.

Who is the course for?
The course is for adult learners (19 and over), who may not have achieved a GCSE at school or would like to gain this qualification for work and study.
Achieving at least a Grade C/4 in GCSE Mathematics can open up a wide range of new opportunities including promotion at work, university entrance, training courses (teaching/accountancy) or access courses. In addition, you will acquire skills which you can apply in many aspects of your everyday life. -
Study methods
- Lessons are 2.5 hours of face to face tuition per week in the evening
- Homework.
- Self study with access to Teams and other online learning platforms for Maths.

How is the course assessed?
There are 3 exams in May and June 2026:
- 14 May - Maths Paper 1
- 3 June - Maths Paper 2
- 10 June - Maths Paper 3.
The exams are in the morning and cannot be changed.
