T-Level Health students at Uxbridge College have partnered with Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) to develop child and family-friendly healthcare resources.
These resources aim to help children, young people and their families prepare for healthcare appointments.
Valuable industry experience
As part of an employer-led project, students completed 105 hours of research and project development, focusing on:
- Autism-friendly design
- Accessible communication
- Person-centred care.
Upon completion they presented their ideas to CNWL healthcare professionals.
The project gave students valuable industry experience while contributing to more inclusive and accessible healthcare services for young people.
High standard of education
Jenni Jolinon and Pamela Alves-Jones, Clinical Educators at CNWL, praised the College's welcoming and supportive environment and were particularly impressed by the students' knowledge, professionalism and the high standard of education.
Students were assessed on their:
- Research, communication and presentation skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and inclusivity.

The value of T-Levels
The project highlights the value of T-Levels in giving students meaningful employer experience while helping to improve healthcare experiences for children, young people and their families.
T-Levels are equivalent to 3 A-Levels, meaning they carry UCAS points and can be used to apply for university or other forms of higher education. Alternatively, they can provide a direct route into highly skilled employment or a higher-level apprenticeship.
