Last week, our Uniformed Services Graduation Parade brought together learners from all programmes to celebrate their achievements across the academic year. It was a fantastic occasion that showcased their development, commitment, and professionalism.

We were honoured to welcome several VIP guests who enriched the event:

  • Major Tom Hallett from the London District Youth Engagement Team, who earlier this year delivered a valuable Work Experience (WEX) opportunity for our learners at the Army Reserve Centre in Uxbridge
  • Darren Jackson from Combat Stress, who spoke about mental health within the services and the support Combat Stress provides to veterans and serving personnel
  • Able Rating (AB) Taylor from the Royal Navy, a former student (2019–2020) who progressed through Levels 1–3 and shared his journey from college into military service, inspiring current learners.

The parade was formally inspected by our VIP guests alongside Alistair Mullins, representing the HRUC Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

After eight hours of rehearsals, learners delivered an impressive parade in front of parents and invited guests, making the occasion even more rewarding.A female Uxbridge College Uniformed Services student receiving an award from Major Tom Hallett from the London District Youth Engagement Team, Army Reserve. Student achievements were also recognised through awards for Best Endeavour, Best Fitness, and Best Student across Levels 1–3, while Higher Education learners received awards for Best Level 4 and Best Level 5.

Additional achievements celebrated included:

  • Level 2 learners completing the “Race Across the New Forest” navigation exercise
  • Higher Education students presenting medals to the highest-scoring team in the Fitness Challenge Day
  • Level 3 second-year learners receiving their Combat Stress Medal for completing the March in March 10-mile march in 2 hours 29 minutes.

The parade was a great success and a fitting way to conclude the academic year, highlighting the discipline, progress, and achievements of our learners.
